All convoy commanders, serial commanders, march unit commanders, and convoy security element leaders are authorized to coordinate directly with any available host nation support personnel, engineer support, and highway traffic division (HTD) personnel.
Coordinating Instructions:
Host Nation Personnel: At this time there are no host nation security personnel or support personnel available in our area of operations.
Engineer Update: A liaison officer from the 224th Engineer Battalion is located at the 2d Brigade headquarters. The 224th Engineer Battalion is responsible for making any battle damage assessments (BDA) on MSR Blue, making any required repairs, and maintaining the MSR. The battalion continues to conduct periodic mine sweeping operations on MSR to detect improvised explosive devices (IED) that may have been emplaced. The battalion reports that MSR Blue is currently in good condition and that there are no restrictions at this time.
HTD Update: A detachment of the 52d ID Highway Traffic Division (HTD) is also collocated at the 2d Brigade headquarters. The HTD has the responsibility to coordinate all convoy movements in the 52d ID area of operations.
